Just took some pictures of the shop to send to the retiree and figured I'd post them here too.

Looks good, like what you did with the books. How is the carpet to keep clean of staples?
Chris
Nice board for the foam cutter - good size band saw - I could work there for sure. What is the mirror for - light reflection ?
SA
Actually the book are basically the way they were just cleaned up and organized.
The band saw has been one of the best tools I've ever owned. Very versatile machine.
As for the carpet it gets swept at night but I'd rather have a painted wood floor. None of that in Florida.
Bernie made the foam saw board for his saw. My saw sits on a table. Not so clever LOL.
Very nice looking shop. Well organized. I like the coffee maker and full sized fridge. :)
I have carpeting on the floor and use a magnetic bar I bought from Home Depot to pick up staples and tacks. I pick up big pieces of fabric and such by hand or with a hand extension gripper and then I use an upright vacuum like the one you have. It works well.
Did you make the sewing machine table extensions or are those store bought?
Thanks for sharing the pics.

I've been thinking of trying one of those magnetic brooms. They work well Gene? I make the sewing machine extensions. It's just a 3/4" piece of plywood shaped around the table and fastened with spacers and screws to the underside. Not hard to make.
Thank for the positive comments. It was a lot of work getting there. I still need to configure welt cord. I'm thinking of hangin it off the wall to the right of the machines. The walls are metal studs there so I'll need to run some strips down to get enough support.
Can't think of a better way yet.
Everything really looks great Paul. I especially love the sample book room.
I have recently enclosed my foam cutting area. It's an 8' X 8' room with a 4' X 8' table. I have a separate air line run into that little room, where my Critter sprayer is hooked up and ready to go. I put on a respirator mask as I enter the room. I was starting to get headaches from the fumes of the Camie glue. The room has a vent fan to the outside. So the room "off-gases" fairly quickly.
I use the magnetic broom. It works pretty well, except for the staples that get hung up in the piles of the carpet. I vacuum with the same Rigid shop-vac like you have.
Everything looks great Paul. Nice paint job on the van.
Paul,
Brief scan and wish my shop was that clean. Very nice.

Man that area to check materials out and just the organization of all that is top drawer.

The table is painted with 2 coats of Floor paint after a coat of primer. I use a foam roller to get it smooth.

Mike,
Samples are a PITA sometimes. I have Amanda keep them up. I also have some salesmen that come in and actually do their jobs and keep their lines up to date. My predecessor use to run into this more but I have changed and dropped the companies that this happened with alot. I don't like the issues it causes. Customer picks something it is out of stock or gone completely so I look like a jerk. Not for me. I'm sure it will still happen from time to time but it has gotten much better by dropping those companies.
Nice shops guys. Makes me jealous. :)
Chris
I had carpet in one of my shops so I laid Masonite down and duct taped the seams, worked great. Much easier to keep clean. I also now cover my cutting table with light colored floor vinyl. Easy to stick pins in, nice to iron on and when it gets dirty easy to clean
