Well, the move is complete. Relocated the business from New York to Florida. What a wild ride it's been.
But you can't beat the weather. Final move day was in the 40's and rainy. Two days later in South Florida and it's pushing 90!
Being from Syracuse I know what you left. Good move. It will take some "getting use to" time but you won't find and snow blowers here :)
hey Paul, were you in liverpool? On Sunflower?
Chris,
I'm no longer in Liverpool. Moved yo Fl. 8 yes ago. Was on Glendale Ave then.
Not too far from you Paul. I was in Rochester. Weather is so much better here. I know it's hot, but way better than sub zero temps and snow for 6 months.
Congrats and welcome to the sunshine State. :)
Chris
Regal. you are forbidden to complain about the heat. Ever. :)
Congrats! You'll love the sunshine state. I'm sure once you get to where you can deal with the summer heat, you'll be happy you made the move.
June
your going to love it joe. my first sumner here was hot I wwas dragging a canvas trailer shop around sweating inside downing a big gulp, now its not bad at all its been 10 years now and I cant imagine I waited so long
Welcome to Florida Regal. Where are you.
Thanks all! The heat takes some getting used too, but I love the area and the weather.
kodydog....I'm in Pompano Beach.
Takes a good 3-4 years to get use to the heat and then its still hot in the Summer. But great weather.
Well shoot! You're 15 minutes down the road from me. Now I know where to send my canvas inquiries since I'm all done with that stuff. PM me if you need any help with local suppliers for whatever. I'm sure you already know Manart is right there off Atlantic. When we get the boat in the water you'll have to come out with us one day.
June
June how long has it been waiting to get wet?
It's been on the hard since August of last year, Mike. And we're really anxious to finish up, but still, after all this time, want it done right. So, no rush - just get it done. I think we're about 3 weeks away from splashing it, but who knows. If customers get us busy, it'll be a while. Such is life.... sigh.
June
don't you start slowing down now June? I do thank god
it takes some getting used to Joe the different cycle of business in Florida compared to the northeast . I fint here in SWFL September to me my slowest month of the year. the locals are done boating with school back in session as it was up north and the snowbirds havnt returned yet then they start returning oct nov dec then January there in full force forget about going to a restaurant. then in april they leave many this year waited an extra month .
For good reason; our weather has sucked this spring. there were still traces of snow in the bush in the beginning May and with a few exceptions it has been unusually cool and rainy. Around here the farmers haven't even started to seed and the 3 days of rain they're calling for won't help.
Yesterday was gorgeous though---sunny and 18 C high 60's F.
Darrn for me now 60 is cool it its 50s im cold.
Thanks June. Manart is actually a few blocks away, which has been great. No more waiting two days and no more paying shipping. Also Miami Corp is in Jacksonville so that's one day shipping. We'd like to go out on your boat when it's ready. Heck, we'll bring the beer, or wine.....or both.
Mike....the season is different but it has to be better than NY. I have work booked and still getting calls. Much better than NY. I was pretty much doing nothing for five or six months. The calls would start coming in right about now. Especially after the lousy winter we had.
I hear ya joe in NH it was the same
it fell all backwards here, fall is the start and spring is winding down
