kody that dangerous talk
rich in England called me yesterday on facebook Skype webcam on my laptop just when I was out back on my patio lol
OMG, lows in the mid-40s!?! Break out the mukluks.
I was in Austin about 12 years ago for Thanksgiving week. We went to San Antonio one day to do the river walk. We were dressed in sweatshirts or light jackets. A couple of the shops said, "No one is out shopping or eating out today, it's just way too cold."
I was in Orlando WDW a couple of years ago in early December. It was quite cold there, in the mid-30s. Tried to find sweat shirts for the adults (all they had was just slightly heavier than a t-shirt) and mittens for the three year old grand kids -- there were exactly two pair left at Target and one pair for my wife and daughter to share.
Hammer I took my son 24 year ago to Disney Orlando I winter actually left NH in a snowstorm I ended up in moon boots walking the tarmack in GA on a contector. we stayed at the resort and at night went to the pool it was like a cool summer day in new England but the lifguards had sweaters and gloves as did the captians of th river taxis going to the nightclubs at night .
Each year I dislike winter a bit more.
Friday I took off work a few hours early, got home, and watched the snow fall from the comfort of my living room for the rest of the day. I would miss watching the snow fall if I lived down south.
If I retire to Florida or some other part of the deep south, I think each year I would crank up my AC and pay someone to take a bag of feathers up on my roof and gently toss them off over my sliding glass doors so I could sit there and watch "the snow fall".
I could save some money by collecting a few dead birds from the roadway and having that person pluck the feathers from those birds up on my roof. When I saw a couple of plucked birds pass my windows and hit the ground I would know she was done.

Gene I know what you mean I used to like when it snowed at night the sound of sleet pelting on the windows and the muffled sond of the plow speeding along my rural route outside and then the flashing orange light. as a kid it meant no school probably and when I was older I could go snowmobiling tomorrow. I always like envning rain storms too still do and we get good ones here in the summer. oh btw I had the AC on today:)
Snow is pretty when it first falls. Nothing else like it on the trees and wires. The problem with Snow is you have to move it. I had enough of that. Blow it in the morning b4 work, in the afternoon after work and during the day when I was home. And then by 10:00 AM the dirt in it takes all the beauty away.
I don't miss it at all. It is terrible we have to live down here. I can't find a way to blow the sun. I miss my snow blower! Yea right !!
Well this sucks. Blue skies, no clouds and 80 today.
Geeeessshhh its rough down here. :)

Regards to John and the "hounds", Have a great day!
I should be at my studio now, working. But is was 8 degrees last night. I think I'll wait to go into work until it warms up a bit - like maybe the first of May.

Pull up roots and move on down... It was 86 yesterday. Looks like a repeat today. This webcam is about 3 miles down the road from my house.

I interviewed for a job in Florida many moons ago. I was told that it's very difficult to get a suntan from florescent lighting. ;D
Here's the two webcams I have on my desktop.
Osprey nest on Sanibel Island: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/florida/sanibel/osprey/
Caliumet, MI: http://www.mainstreetcalumet.com/Web_Cam/ This cam has been down since a few days before the CopperDog 150. Caliumet gets around 200" of snow each year.

Spent several months in your neck of the woods several years ago. In my pop-up camper. Kayaking is great this time of year.

Mike, the beach and boating is MUCH nicer on your coast. And the people are more friendly. But in the business we're in, the East Coast works best. Ft. Lauderdale has the most convenient suppliers for boat refits. If I were to do it all over, the West Coast is where I'd be.
June
but the people are cheaper more frugal here june like the lower cost of living they wont spend the same as over there I had a guy today looking for a cover like he seen on a friend boat with a tag of mine I did about 6 years ago wanting a full morring cover in a 17; centerconsole , I said I can come out but ballpark is about $600 " oh I didn't figure that much " but a guy I know who lives your way had a 20 ish cuddy wanted to replace his bimini canvas and windows he was quoted from a large shop in Riviera beach just under 4k
you guys got it nice fishing though only a few mike offshore to deep water, I got tired or going 30 miles inly to see 50 60 feet snd the Bahamas's, my boats previous owner used to take it over, something ill never do
June I forgot your right on stuff available last spring I drove over to the east cost and bought a newer motor for my boat nothing to find over here.
what a nice day , I was working patterning but the local beac was full of snowbirds soaking up some sun before they leave soon I had a customer this week who decided to say for april also due to the cold weather at home for him

70 degrees two days ago. Went down to 14 degrees last night.
I wish our liberal democratic congress persons would hurry up and institute man made global warming taxes so we can get our weather back to the way it was.

gene must have "willed" that weather up here. We've been melting for the better part of the week. Plus 6 or 41 above today, down to minus 2? or near 0 by tomorrow night, and not above freezing again till the end of next week.
Hang in there Darren spring around the corner.
I ised to go out behind the shop sere the small river fed the lake maybe 70' across a d with the help of the current break of large sections of pourus ice with a 2x4 and float them under the ice opening more water for april first salmon fishing. I used to love it with the bait shop wed have fishermen shoulder to shoulder out back. Then year by year less people. Even the derby turnouts diminished. To not a big deal at all crom me closing at 9pm opening at 4 am.
Now im down here.
I heard Canada has 2 seasons: winter and construction.
I told my wife I'm really looking forward to complaining about how hot it is.
gene
My daughter checks an app on her phone every day for the temp in Oymyakon, Russia. From mid-October to mid-May, the city has never had a recorded temperature above freezing. They usually hover around 50 below during that time. The region once served as a place of banishment for criminal/political exiles. But now, people actually live there of their own free will.
Around here, we piss and moan any time we have a few consecutive days in the 30's.
QuoteI heard Canada has 2 seasons: winter and construction.
:) if you've ever seen what going from summer highs in the high 80's and 90's to winter nights down to 40 below does to a road bed, you'd understand why that's true.
QuoteAround here, we piss and moan any time we have a few consecutive days in the 30's
same up here---except that that is in the summer. 30 degrees Celsius is in the 90's. Thirty four is roughly a hundred. ;D
