Good morning all,
I have a customer with a 1998 Ford F-150 Lariet that needs the drivers side seat redone and new foam. Doing mostly marine work I don't have a vendor for OEM parts for such a thing. Do any of you car guys and gals have any ideas? I would prefer for time reasons to just be able to buy the skins and install them rather than remake everything from scratch. Thank you.
Geoff
For OEM parts, tell your friend to contact a Ford dealer.
To even make OEM reproductions will depend on yardage of the OEM materials, which may not be available from our automotive yardage suppliers. A truck that old could make it difficult. Do your searching by phone, to save time.
I have an OEM bottom (from a Ford dealer in stock),seat upholstery cover for a 2000 but doubt it is the same detail or color. The Ford dealer can verify if the 98 and 2000 are the same cover. Mine is light tan, still in the wrapper.
Regarding the seat bun (foam), the dealer will also be a good place to start. Some can be repaired, we do it all the time. But, new is always easier and more convenient.

Find a auto trim shop in the area. They should have the Detroit original books. You can look up the original fabric that was used and order the fabric and get it fixed. On our web page we offer several on the books that you can see in a PDF file. Find the year, make and model. Near the bottom of the page. Just look in the 1999 book. It may be in the book. Some colors and patterns run for several years.
