does anyone know where to purchase sergene its becoming hard to find and I havent found a good replacement

Tried no fray in the past really didn't care for it. With  sergene  you have more control
Glf has it over $60 a quart plus shipping! I remember when Burch had it for under $20

All that stuff I've ever seen looks like watered down varnish.  Have you tried anything from the hardware store - some non-oily sealer maybe?

The MSDS for the Sergene says it's a "nylon terpolymer in alcohol solution".  A quick Google search shows that "GENTAL 101" is just such a polymer used in the aircraft industry.  Maybe you could get a quote.

No idea if it's the same stuff, but the MSDS for Gental 101 looks to contain a lot of the same ingredients.
