I started out contorting to reach 4 bolts onside a center console holding a seat back on good thing my arms are long but in too fat for that stuff/
then first call the guy wanted a cockpitit cover in a 80s cuddy cabin 20' ish lake boat .

I used to do these all day long 15 year ago for $375 the guy was close to my house and easy so I quoted $400 the guy ssay oh o didn't think it would be that much so I gueese hes gona get more prices ??? a second guy called he needed some new enclosure windows onthis 408 meridian bridge and maybe the aft deck depending on price I think here we go again could I come quote it , it was a normal little over an hour bur this is snowbird season and bad traffic in the area ft myers beach so if im never gong this far again even if it is a good job good thing he contracted 5k
ill drive that far 3 trips for a decent job

Here ya Mike. I drove to look at a carver, wanted all new straps for rollup. 15 panels, $250.00 that was to much. Drive to boat take panels off, drive to shop, drive back, put panels up. Go figure.
That's pretty inexpensive Mike. I would probably quote that for around $500 min. That includes my time to drive to the boat, pattern and go back to install. But, you 're right....some people don't grasp the fact that it's a custom job.
Congrats on the 5k job. It sounds like it's worth it.
Ya the boa is a minute or so from my house and the boat would be over the ground on davits easy
