Title: French stitch backer?

What you guys using to back up your french top stitching? Ive been using scrap vinyl but sometimes causes a pucker on sharp corners.
whats good to use marine or automotive use?

I've alway used a strip of matching. Vinyl  incase it is seen

I think you need to use a thinner, more flexible backing. I've used headliner listing before, it's a folded fabric, cut on the bias and that is a big help in allowing it to make curves.
