hehe i almost deleted it for spam, I was 50/50 so decided to help :-)
after all we could do with a little distraction from canvas and vinyl occasionally
don't you think :-0
I bet you'll end up in either Pizzahut or McDoodles Mike hehe
What I find most interesting is that rahikumar is a vegetarian. I think "Beef Wellington" is code words for something else???
I bet he is having trouble with his sewing machine and is just too shy to ask.

And by the way, english is "incorrect". Being a vegetarian is BAD!

I'm a little more.... How can I say it? "Rural" I guess. I could give advice on grilling a mean hot dog or maybe if company is coming over throw some ribs in the smoker.

must be ESP Rich I did end up at Pizza Hut lastnight now I must decide again http://www.venturerider.org/forum/images/smilies/think.gif
Mike, Papa John's is MUCH better. And probably less expensive. Their online deals are terrific - pay no attention to the prices till you create an account and log in. Large with 8 or 9 toppings usually is around $12.
Anyhoo, I'm on strike tonight. No cooking for me. Last night I made langostino alfredo with pasta. Costco has started carrying frozen langostino. Just fry up (in butter) some sweet onions, shitakki and baby portobello mushrooms, add in a teaspoon of chopped garlic, white wine, a couple spoons of sundried tomatoes, capers, about half a cup of whipping cream, and reduce till thick. Throw in langostinos till they're warm and serve over linguine. Pinot grigio on the side, of course :-* Yum. But I ain't cooking tonight.
June
I can hear your arteries hardening from here June hehe
Just a lucky guess Mike :-) your facebook post the other day was tagged
'sent from Pizzahut' hehe
SHHR, i'm a simple guy with simple tastes, i always find fancy food never quite lives up to the hype
but simple food almost always does.
thats why i like the Jamie Oliver recipies, he is a top London/TV chef but his recipes are
simple and straight forward and man do they taste good.
check out this ale pie, the wife is going to make one over xmas..

I think we should start a contest. Where should Mike eat tonight?
Ver heard of logostino June. A few weeks ago I found the best pizza joint I been to in years
A real Irialian place with guys speaking itialian tossingg pizza
doe in the air and then they have a coal fired brick over as a centerplace
Well, the "ale pie" sounds good - but complicated. WTF is "suet" anyway???? BTW, I entered into Google "WTF is suet" and it brought up Wikipedia as the first entry. Still didn't really explain what suet is. Sounds like "heart attack on a plate" to me.
I used to love to watch "The Naked Chef" - Jamie Oliver's first US show on Food and Garden TV. He had some great recipes. Happy to hear he's still cooking.
Kody, LOVE your idea. We should make Mike our "mystery shopper" and he can review pizza joints and American grills for us.
Mike, those brick oven pizzas are the best. We have 2 joints in town with an oven like that. Best pizza ever.

The wife and I decided to try charcoal fired pizza on Deerfield beach last winter. We walked into a place right off the beach on 2nd st and sat at an outside table. Waited 10 mins no service. Went inside to inquire, they said be right there. 5 min later still no help. We were facing the street and right on the other side was a place called Bobs Pizza. So we got up crossed the street sat down. Quite hungry by now. 15 mins later we ate one of the best pizzas ever.
1-1/2 months later on our way back from Lantana Beach. On East Ocean Ave. We were hungry and decided to stop at Pizzerio Oceano. Wood Fired Oven. The place was hopping. Only one table left. Problem was we only had $15 cash between us. Hay that's OK we'll pay with plastic. Nope, no accept credit cards.
I've yet to eat a charcoal or wood fired pizza. I've heard their good
Suet is basically fat June, you can make some fantastic
suet puddings with it either savoury or sweet fillings
and you can either bake or steam it.
I won't tell you what part of the animal the suet comes from
it's a bit gross but the soft pastry it makes is one of my
favourites.
this is about as english as you can get.

spotted Dick

and the famous Jam Roly Poly like I used to have at school

The best pie crust in the world is made with lard (suet). It's light, flakey, and absolutely delicious. I use 2 butter knives to cut it into the flour, the moisten it with an egg and enough water to =make the dough workable.
I adore Christmas Pudding (made with suet), it's rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. Serve with Hard Sauce. Mum used to make it and it was steamed in a shaped melon mould that belonged to my great-great-grandmother who was Scottish. And they say the British Isles have no real gastronomic contributions! ;)
(never did get to try Spotted Dick when I was in your beautiful country)
Wow. Such different cultures. The only suet we have ever had in our house is the suet with seeds in it that my wife buys to hang on a tree to feed the birds. (I think she is actually feeding the cats and our neighborhood hawk.)

heh you haven't lived until you've had a spotted Dick inside you :o :o
A lot of our old fashioned winter food like puddings and pies
are designed to plump up a body for the winter chill and provide
lots of calories for people who worked in hard manual jobs
These days you just couldn't eat lots and lots of that kind of food
it would make you as big as a house hehe.. Mainly because
we just don't do the physical exercise our ancestors did to burn off
the calories.
This is making me really hungry for a really good steak and kidney pudding
with suet pastry heheh
Tonight for dinner the wife made a Gypsy Tart .. ohh err.
is basically a flan base with a tin of Evaporated milk whisked up
and poured on top, you then cook it for about 20 mins and leave to cool.
it tastes like caramel but very very sweet
It's an old school dinner recipe
Rich behave you will frighten these good people ;D
My old man makes a wicked Phia Thai dish.
He's designated cook at the weekends.... Bliss.....
Don't mention suet to me, I had an infestation of tiny moths then discovered the suet was alive with grubs :o
Suzi
Rich ... are you Frankie howard reincarnated :D

The biggest call for it in my 'hood is as an attative to ground venison.if there is any fat on your white tailed deer it can be gamey, so we trim the hamburger lean and top it up with pork suet.
