I was sewing the last seam on a Boat captains seat when the thread broke. It is a French seam joining the front and back of the seat together down the middle.

The break is in the side (decorative) of the French seam and the outside still looks perfect, the machine kept going and I did not notice it until the end. This is my boat and I am worried this could be an issue since the seam is not backstiched at the break. How do I fix it. I tied some knots with some extra thread but I want to fix it properly without re-making the whole seat. Can I glue the thread on the back? I think some sort of good glue would hold it.

I will get some photos in a minute. It might look worse since I tied knots. Basically looks like the back thread broke but the front was fine and each lockstitch is ok. The tied may hold but should I hand redo the are, what can be done? Thanks

  From what you said I don't think you will have a problem. If you stitched over the area and started a few stitches back, Tied the threads I don't think there is anything else to do. I doubt glue will be necessary. The stitches are locked.
