Title: Grommet Press

Thoughts on a grommet press versus a grommet inserting die..??  Was looking at the PM-5 grommet machine...

For "Inserting die"I'm guessing you're talking about those that you hit with a hammer to set the grommet in place that you can buy in most hardware stores?
If that's the case the big thing to ask is how many grommets will you install? It gets tiring (and old) going around smacking a hammer on these dies that will eventually wear them out by mushrooming the ends that you hit.
With a press it goes quicker and less wear and tear on you too, also you can change out the dies for different sized grommets on the press. Another thing is to consider if you're working on a big tarp or boat cover that needs a grommet way out in the middle of it, you'll have a tough or impossible time gathering the material into the throat of the press to set one in place, that's where the hand dies and a hammer comes in handy.
