File this under odd news: a 61-year-old maid in Belgium was apparently crushed to death last Thursday when the retractable hardtop on her employer's BMW closed on her neck. Ouch!

Sounds like a good start for a murder mystery. Can you see Lieutenant Columbo trying to figure this one out.
I was reading about this and most folks say you need to keep your finger on the button in order to retract a BMW convertible top. Maybe she had her big toe pushing the button while her body was stretched across the seats???
The only convertible I have owned was a Triumph Harold and I had to manually retract the convertible top.
One person stated that this lady will certainly file a law suit against BMW.

I have worked with many conv. tops over the years, never had one so powerful it could kill, but I admit I have never worked on a BMW, sound fishy to me.
The story gets even weirder when you consider that BMW retractable hard-tops also operate remotely by a button attached to your key fob.
If someone knew that the sensors didn't work, they could have closed the top on her neck from afar.
Or, maybe the police should consider the likelihood that someone strangled her by hand and then placed her neck between the car frame and convertible top to make it look like an accident.
I'm with Mike802... there's something fishy going on here.
