Title: Marine Pleated Vinyl with narrow "stitched" channel - where???
Post by: JuneC on July 11, 2011, 09:54:29 am
Anyone know where to get a white pleated vinyl that has a wide/narrow channel with the narrow channel "stitched" in place?  It's heat-formed to look like stitching but isn't truly thread.  The wide channels are 1.75" wide and the narrow channels are 1/4" wide.  I can't find it anywhere.  Came off a Renegade center console.

Standard aftermarket is 1 1/2" pleat. I've run into your problem before and the
odd sizes are made in large quantites for the original manufacturer.

Typically if the boat isn't too old I will call the factory to see if the material or skins
are available. If not then I tell the customer I can only get what's available or stitch
the panels. Of course the price goes up. That's when they say the 1 1/2" will be
fine.

Spradling makes 3 vinyl patterns that are pleated with molded in stitching with 1 1/2" pleats. The patterns are Allegro, Flotilla II and Seabreeze.  They are high $ per yard I think,I'd just sew it,but I'm cheep-O
