Hello All
My 226-R2 sews OK.. but it has always had a problem.
When sewing a small test piece of canvas , the stitch length is nice and even .
But on work pieces , like a large canvas top for a Land Rover , the stitch length is all over the place . I think the large work piece doesn't feed through the feet evenly. The stitch length tends to shorten up , even though it is set for the longest stitch size. It might be the operator doing something wrong-me .

It may be you, but it may also be the tension on the presser feet. How securely do the feet hold the canvas in place? Too much "slop" will allow uneven stitching, and stitches may get smaller because the machine isn't able to adequately pull the fabric over the feed dogs and under the presser feet. Just a thought.
Just wondering, do any of you canvas guys use pullers?

I've heard that they're great for sewing long banners.
