General Discussion / Re: Button Question

As sofa said those buttons were from before the loop backs came out. I used them for years and still miss them. In some instances they were very good because they pulled tighter but they are no longer made. We are stuck with the loop backs which come in two styles small loop and larger loops. The smaller are better. Both types are now metal loops.

Does anyone have a photo of these buttons, or know what they were actually called?  Are you describing a pad shank button, maybe?  (aka canvas back).

Quote from: gene on October 03, 2014, 08:29:26 amMy zippers are very well done and on thick fabric you need to turn the pillow around to find the zipper.

Someday I will learn how to hide my zippers.  I even took a hands-on class with "The Pillow Lady" (Chris Watt) and still can't do it.

Okay, I've tried every setting, and all I get is "Cheesy" instead of the actual smiley.  Oh, well...

Thanks, Mike.  This is a test: :D

Just sent some samples to Hoover.  They're interested, and have a couple of ideas... *fingers crossed*

Paul, that's phenomenal -- thank you so much!  Hope your wife loves the new bling.  Rhinestone caps are on the website but they haven't been moving because there wasn't a good way to set them.  Lots of interest, but very little actual buying, so this is all extremely helpful.  I'm also relieved to know the posts are long enough for multiple layers of upholstery fabric.

I'm going to ask Hoover about the holding ring.  Maybe we can make it taller.

Thanks.  Carr's is fine for me, too.  I can paste images from other sources here but the pre-loaded smilies don't work.

How to Use This Forum / My smilies have disappeared...

I can't see smilies in messages anymore.  I checked my profile and didn't see a "allow smilies" setting.  *insert sad face here*

Am I the only one?  Did I miss a setting?  Am I doomed forever to a smiley-less existence?  Help me...

Kool!  I wonder if any boat owners would like some bling on their canvas?  :D  Truly, most would not, but in Miami, who knows!

Well...  they are rust-proof, so...

Thanks so much, Dennis!  Did I send you a felt pad for your vise-grips?  I know I sent one to Paul for his Pres-N-Snap.  If not, I certainly can now if you'd like to try one.
56
Dennis, sent a message to your gmail account... (concerns delivery)
57
No pressure, June.  It's always better to go local if you can, anyway.  Hope you find what you need!

Samples are in the mail, gentlemen!  (I do have your address, Dennis - forgot I did).  Thank you so much.  This is an enormous help and I'm very grateful.

If anyone else would like to volunteer, please let me know.  Thanks!

Osborne makes X-long (3/8") caps and eyelets [full disclosure:  I am an Osborne distributor].  If you're interested, I happen to have 100 X-long caps in stock (but not eyelets unless I order them).

I also have 1/4" Fasnap gypsy studs, if that will work for you.

Paul, the die won't fit your Pres-N-Snap so you'll have to jury rig something like Cheryl did with hers to set them.  I use a very dense felt disc inside my dies.  I'll send you one to try if you want but it might take too much space in your die although it does compress a little.  You also might not want to gum up your die with the adhesive -- it's pretty strong.
