had to dodge the rain this morning to install this mooring cover and motor cover

Years ago when i did alot of cover every week i found it more cost effective to buy all the parts and make my own support poles   Rather them all made up.
I used so many poles it wasnt a big deal to order a gross of each part.
Now i just order the pole saving labor time but i looked up the cost difference.
Now im paying. $10 and change a pole.  Adding up each part cost plus tubing estimated about $7.75 a pole and m time tocut and assemble. Ill stick with buying poles.

ell awhile back I was complaining about my att plan being 200 a month for 2 I phones unlimited everything so my contracts were up and I complained to I got a no contract deal for both line unlimited talk and text but 2gb shared data and I havnt used more at 114 a month , well one phone has always had low volume speaker and the other had a malfunting proximity sensor and gps then today my volume button fell off . well I called a best buy agent online who told me I could upgrade to a 5s for just under 200 a phone or get a 4s for 1 cent each, well no brainer when I got to the store I got $100 gift card for each phone sale  total $200  I got a couple cases ad still have credit :)

...but I wish I wasn't working



this morning I had to go estimate work in
Boca  Grand I was surprised the toll went up again to $6 now was 3 10 year ago . while I was there I stopped by the lighthouse the water was beautiful
( of course I wasn't out there  )

its been slow this summer but I installed another cover today ,  its slow so I patterned it Tuesday morning. layed out the pattern to order the minimum canvas needed and ordered it got it tuesday and sewed it wendsay  pm and installed it this moorning . customer wanted a one piece cover using the oem snaps

I have to go look at a little job out on ritzy boca grande island in the morning (crossed fingers)

bimini for a flats boat mounted  inside the gunnels so you can still walk on the gunnel to fish with the top laying down put it up for at the sandbar with the kids mounted on a slide track gives 3 feet of motion fore or aft

the width of the top was only 52" but provide much needed shade

id like to find a boat top fitting that's like a jaw slide but with a single tab like a eye end that will fit into a jawside. I don't know if such a item exists.

After installing a bimini this morniing im done for the day maybe a estimate later.
Had lunch came home let mydfogs out to play in the grass.


Now the summer afternoon  louds are comming.  

In the winter fast pace got to have it. then  i loong for summer
In florida   Up north i was in the thick of the rush now after the 4th.
It will br crazy soon enough.

I fabricated this forward bimini for a dealer deadline



and set up this trailer I bought for my boat hull

ive made these on larger sport fish boats with snaps ect but this was a first strap with buckles to the t top around the tube , then 2 boat hook as usual in the stern rod holders and a ton of shade esily folded and stored as soon as I can im making one for my boat . I get enough people now who see my truck at my house and stop to see me now with my boat visible from  a bridge over my canal if I have a shade set up on my boat im sure id get some inquiries from it

so I get nothing for a while then the dealer in town I work with called me for some prices I get the go ahead on a snap on cockpit and cover but before I can do it they needed a bimini top them got to goahead a week later on that full cover over the t top  themn im going to do  the cockpit cover  but I get a call today if they get a pontoon there Friday  can I make a forward zipp together bimini if they have the frame and matching canvas ( really ill need binding and zippers for sure. what color ?so if I have rto order anything Friday it will get here Monday lol

Im sure ive made mistakes but im voing to try to improve after an experience i had this week.

Last month i bought a junk boat on a trailer after i took the boat to the landfill i saw there was rot i missed in the trailer crossbeams. So i removed the bunke and was going to repair it myself but my metal supplier i cound doesnt sell galvanized steele. So i called welded to replace 2 3"x3" crossbeams 150. Ok so i said ill get the triler over asap. The next day i got it over and againg crom a guy in the the dest again he said $150   Not for v shaped beams that lower the boat on the trailer 150 for straight   I said ok he said a out 10 days and wrote the job on a piece of paper i got no proposal in writing. I always give in writing.
The. They call to say its done i get there this week and the bill is now $392 with tax ! More them twice i said i was told twice 150 before tax   
Now if it was myself and my brother even grossly underwuoted the job even if it was only verbal it eat it myself and keep a customer. So for a out $200 this place has lost all my future bisnedd and referals.

the owner of this center console wanted full protection for the colored glass t top. so after we made a binimi for the bow area we patterned this cover Thursday morning and made it Friday and Saturday . sunbrella  fit for tha vow mount trolling motor and sock had to be made for the ancjor light and rodholders at the rear of the t top  this was the install this morning ready for this new boat to be delivered

this morning got a 33 yard mooroing cover patterned at a dealers it was nice to have it inside out of the sun. but I got it done had a early lunch and as ive moved back into my home shop it is nice to spend time with my pups in the grass. before sewing some boat seats



it was a nice blue sky and puffy clouds

but now its pouring out and I forgot a left the car out and the top down I had to run and move it

20 years that how long mine have lived before  they started cracking and flaking. im going to try to patch them maybe with some west system epoxie or marine tex but im sure ill have to buy a new set 3 or 400 bucks a block I think
