Turn the hand pliers upside down so you can see the mark on the cloth.

General Discussion / Re: June 6th.
June 13, 2014, 07:44:17 am
We commemorated D-Day last week with a Red Arrow display over our town. It was a glorious day and a fitting tribute to all the brave men and woman who took part. Lymington and the surrounding area (the New Forest) played a big part in the operation.

Taken from Wikipedia:
"Lymington was known as USAAF Station AAF-551 for security reasons by the USAAF during the war, and by which it was referred to instead of location. It's USAAF Station Code was "LY".

50th Fighter Group

RAF Lymington saw the arrival of the USAAF 50th Fighter Group on 5 April 1944, the group arriving from Orlando AAF, Florida. The 50th had the following operational squadrons:

10th Fighter Squadron (T5)

81st Fighter Squadron (2N)

313th Fighter Squadron (W3)

The 50th was a group of Ninth Air Force's 84th Fighter Wing, IX Tactical Air Command. It flew the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt. The group ended operations at Giebelstadt, Germany in May 1945, and returned to the United States in August. I"

Here is some footage of the day. It was bloody amazing!

Very sorry for your loss, DixieLand.
You may find this page/site helpful.

Your information is very limited which suggest you're just starting your research. Keep researching and don't be afraid to ask questions whenever and to whomever you can. It's going to be hard but don't give up, although be careful it doesn't consume you.

I spent 5 years in the thermal insulation industry working in refineries and power stations and even through this short time I knew many a good man succumb to mesothelioma. :(

All the best and good luck.

I'm not quite "getting" how the wires work... any chance you could show us a photo with the ladder extended?

You can see the ladder extended in the video:

Waterboarding, LOL. Actually, based on past events there's a possibility of that after these have been deployed. You never know. ;)

The old top pinned to the work bench isn't connected in any way. :)

Nice covers, Mike. Funky!  :)

Today I is mostly patterning a sprayhood on the town quay in the sun. Yes, we do get sun sometimes. :)
The quay is packed with grockles and locals, mostly grockles. It's not a good time to drop the frames whilst trying to string up on your own when they're all sat down watching your every move.  :-[

Edit:
Forgot to add; A lady came up to me and asked what size boat I was on, apparently there was a disagreement between a group of people about the size. I replied, 'buggered if I know love, I'm only a covermaker'. :)

Looks like I claimed success to soon in regards to the thumbnails. Sorry about that, June. :-[

For now I've updated the OP to show links to the images instead.

Finally managed to find a workaround for displaying thumbnails for Dropbox here. Where there's a will.. :)

Winter cover for a Nauticat 32 in Odyssey.
Made this last winter and it's tuned out pretty good, although the aft section is a tad tight, but nothing to worry about.

For sure, I'll keep on searching.  :)
Good to hear you managed to find your old friend, Mike. :)

Once I have organised all the images on DropBox I'll upload some to the Green Room...

Thanks for the info, Mike. Not a big fan of Facebook, but as it happened I signed up just the other week to see if I could track down an old school friend. No joy as yet. :(

It's good see this place is active as ever. :)

I just remembered I have a Dropbox account and I believe I have a few cover pics there, so I'll link a few later. I'll be starting work on a rear enclosure for a Princess 61 in a few days. Actually, here's a link to a web cam where I'm located and the Princess is to the left of the image. Nice and sunny today, makes a change. :)

...Morning all. It's been a while!
Sleep pattern has gone to pot so I'm sat here at 2.45 in the morning surfing.

I hope my fellow canvas members are all fine and have lots of work coming in. Yummy!

I would post a load of  pics but they're all on my phone at work, so you'll have to make do with this one I uploaded some time last year for whatever reason, I forget.

Black Sauleda PU coated acrylic, with crappy 30 thou Taiwan rolled glass (note to self - stop using that tripe), all panels detachable, with buckles and straps fastened to pre-existing lacing posts/buttons. Oh, I charged extra for the gurk in the stbd rear window. It's got to be worth a few extra quid, eh? ;)

They say when it doesn't rain, it pours. Well, last winter it also blew. So much so it tripled my work load in the repair department. I'm knackered!!!

Anyway, I'll try and pop back some time and post some more pics, if you're interested.

Remember, get out there and stitch your customers up good and proper. ;)

Jerry.
