Our inlets are horrible.  Lots of boats lost and in some cases, people killed.  They're all narrow, some have blind corners and they all have to be run at nearly full speed due to the current.  Takes a lot of nerve and willingness to keep on track. There's NO room for turning around in most.

Getting out is one thing.... imagine coming back in through this.

Mike that Barnegat inlet gets nasty and is shoaly as heck. I have  a vid of  the coast guard somewhere I gotta find going out that one. Jupiter don't look to nice there either June , when they're breaking that far outside the inlet that is !!! Been out Stuart inlet a couple times on a 54' and wish I was on the 75' going out ahead of us !!! East coast gets rough and we get our share here in NJ thats for sure. Lots of flooding here this week. Super high tides like I've only seen during a nor'easter or hurricane !!!

I remember that inlet when I was there last spring. It was on a Saturday and their were 5 or 6 boats constantly passing through the inlet, all full throttle. I couldn't believe 2 guys on a jet ski hanging on for dear life.

The only good news I see in those videos is that your water is a lot warmer than  it can be up here.

:o June scary, don't you guys get slack tide
Just kidding   :P
we did an exit like that once, called the Deben,  missed the slack & hit it on the ebb 37ft 12ton ketch & we bounced off the bottom at one point. One of those heart stopping moments.

Had gone out of a pass off shore fishing one day I had no luck so though to try a bit south I boca grand pass I was I. My 21 cobia center console it was nice a calm off the beach but I saw this yellowfin maybe 32' just rocking and rolling drifting In  The pass the tade was moving through and interActing  with the wind. Just held steady and hung in till we were through it
