I've always had a problem with large cushions

with a normal size cushion I add 1/2" around, and 1" in depth
with a 3" cushion, 23 X 23
I cut 4" foam 24 X 24
but
I have to make a cushion that is 48 X 52 X 3

Do I follow the same procedure as for a small cushion?
or
do I cut the foam the same as the finished size of the cushion (and maybe add dacron to top and bottom)?

I hadn't discussed buttons with the customer, but if I have to add them, I believe they would be alright with it

He said that he's seen these made with canvas or 1000 cordura
he doesn't know which would be stronger/lighter

My brother is not a small man
5'11" about 250#

problem is,  I don't know what 1000 cordura is
and
have been looking for STRONG black canvas for myself for a project, but have been unable to find any
I have white/cream, but think that would not be appropriate for such a project

anyone can help?

I'm redoing a small chair that did not have springs before---only webbing across the top

I want to put springs in it
The frame is 2 1/2" high

Can I use 4" springs?
or
Should I be using 5"

I'm going to be making a leather cushion for the back of a Morris chair

there will be no zipper

Do I have to put grommets in it?

I'd rather not do that if I can get away with it, but if they have to be there, I will

I want the owners to be able to flip the cushion over to spread the wear, I don't want a zipper to stop them, or grommets to show on the top either  (it would be different, I guess, if I could get black grommets)

This chair is supposed to go in the  husband's "man cave" and he's a pretty big fellow

I cringe thinking about this big guy using this chair anyway

When I went to pick up a small recliner that I was to recover, the woman wasn't there, someone else was (her sister maybe, I didn't ask who she was)  told me that she went to the hospital the previous night and was in intensive care.
For some reason, I didn't go ahead and order the fabric (I usually do this before I pick up the piece)
I picked it up last week on Wednesday.
I also didn't start it---it's just sitting in my shop
I have plenty of other work, so I just was working on the other stuff
Well,
her obituary is in today's paper
She had no children, a sister that lives across the country, and a sister who is local

Now what do I do?

Has anyone else had this happen?
