The new leg that I want to replace the existing leg has a  wider and deeper base, the center of the new leg where the bolt is, measures in from the sofa railing 1-3/4", the piece of wood that is there now (in the photo it goes beyond the existing sofa leg) measures 1-1/4" in from the railing. Can I add a piece of wood so that I will have something to drill into?

The exisisting leg at the base is 1-3/4" wide x 2-1/2" deep, the new leg is 3-1/2" square at the base

General Discussion / Re: sewing fascia to inside arm
April 10, 2014, 03:05:18 pm
Hello all, I went to a local sewing machine repair guy today and sure enough, the needle does have a scarf, and I had it turned the wrong way! He is coming out next week to check the machine for any timing issues given the skipped stiches and for any burrs that might be making the thread fray. Thank you all so much for your comments, especially yours June nice to see another lady on the forum, I am learning so much from my mistakes and from all of you, very grateful for the help.

I just took a good look at the needles and they don't have a scarf

The label on the needles has this information:

DPX17           135X17
                         2167

               #21    (130)

The groove on the lower part of the needle is facing left

I would like to change the leg on this sofa to a different style leg, but 1/2 of this leg is a solid piece (the part that is not layered plywood) that goes up into the sofa rail, do I have any options here? Can I saw the leg off and replace it with another one? If I have to keep this style of leg I can always change the stain color on it, but I would rather change it to a different style of leg altogether, if thats possible

Thank you all so much for your advice, I used the single welt foot and a larger needle #21 and I finally did get both fascias attached to the inside arms this weekend. There was a lot of starting and stopping on the sewing because the thread continued to pop out, I did check how the machine was threaded and rethreaded it to see if that was the issue, also I noticed some irregular stitch lengths happening.

I am having a hard time sewing around the curve of the fascia while attaching the inside arm fabric. I use a consew walking foot machine and I am using the double welt foot to sew with. The thread keeps popping out of the needle, I am wondering if I am not turning the fabric quickly enough and if the welt is coming out of the groove of the foot.  http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m42/elsavanbever/Wildwood-20140405-00100_zps2f1d4b57.jpg

Can anyone tell me what the white fluffy stuff in the photo is called and where I can get it? What you see in the photo is what was left after I stripped a sofa and I need some more of it. Whatever it is, it tears apart easily and sticks and molds together beautifully even on a vertical surface.

Thanks everyone for all the info, maybe the holidays did affect the shipping time for Toledo, but as I said I have called them and left about three messages and no one ever got back to me. thanks again

Hi everyone Happy New Year to you all. Could anyone point me in the right direction, I need some zipper feet and welting feet for a Consew 206rb industrial walking foot machine, I tried to order some from a supplier that is on this site, Toledo industrial machines but to no avail. The company took my order 3 weeks ago and has not shipped anything to me and they haven't even bothered to return my phone calls. Sure would appreciate any input, thanks
