Infusion Finish - wood

This term I encountered in a reading and thought I need a better understanding. 

Anyone understand how this finish happens - with wood or whatever?

Take a piece of hardwood and give it an infusion???  Leaves me wondering.

Sounds more medical to me.......maybe not.

Doyle I warned you to say off those "R" rated sites ! 
New one ?  I guess you could oil teak or rosewood -  or raise the humidity in a dry climate - ?
