Post by: PDQ on July 14, 2010, 02:48:31 am
Need to get my hands on some of this:

Cheers Eric, that sounds more like it.

I've had a look around but it looks like I'll be hard pressed to obtain this in the UK by the end of the week.  ;D

Plan B: Butcher the old cover and place it on the new.  :'(

Your pic's too fuzzy to really tell what the profile is for your rubber seal, but I use Xtreme Seal all the time on covers/enclosures.  Does it look like this?

Nothing like that, June,

This doesn't just acts as a seal, it's also used to fasten the canopy all around the screen by sloting into a groove.

I'll try and get a clearer shot of it...

I've had a little luck slicing that nub that fits in the groove right off. Then a large windshield clip fits (for the most part) in the window  and snaps go in the rest of the rubber part thats left. Works on Sea Rays anyway.

I've done that to get the guy through the summer till we make a top. I've never met a person that likes using that stuff. It works as a selling feature when we tell them we won't use it again.
