June i was looking at it also, and its saying based in 2014 you paying 50% of employees premium to get a max 35% credit and it is better with 10 employees with there annual of 25g or less. I just scaned through but it doesnt make sense to me removing the old benifit, maybe they had a typo and meant share holders arent elgible.

Paul im  in agreement with you, its a start of organizing maybe not better for all. but its at least a direction reminds me of my first time manuvering thru a round-a-bout instead of the familar traffic light at home is the US, intimidating at first then pretty darn smooth. well im gonna go back to lookin on that there site.

Just being curious which machine are you considering, a picture or model  would be super. I can understand what Bob or Bobby has mentioned, heres a basic im thinking.  The shaft on or thru the machine pulley has to in someway mount a bearing, it is tapped or screwed on centered. It uses the bearing feature to house a sensor which ie ( watches a couple dots go round n round on the pulley shaft) this housing has the ability to stay free and not spin around and winding the cord all up.
Anyway within this picture there would be the dots one being top needle position and the other bottom needle positon, just a measurement for your selected button and or present foot position. that it in a nuts shell, now this has to allow the continued use of bobbin winding as you mentioned.  I would take a couple pictures and be able to send them to Bob for review.
Anything can be done but im positive he will calmly say if you should continue with the option or not.
Now any questions regarding sewing im lost and all ears listening to the pros, having no clues on this craft yet.

Raindodger I would go your route when i do this again, and Greg or Bob carry these types. Im curious as the torque or power at very slow speed you mentioned.
From some looking it looks the same as my 5000 with the added hall effect sensor, and different controler. i will say from stitch at a time to an experianced speed most here will use is the key to research.

I picked up one of the 5000's from Greg in the link above and  can say with the 50mm pulley and no experiance you can sew so slow your bored. You can use the selector to adjust top speed very slow.  A start up or ramp up "as is one stitch at a time"- to full speed setting you might have to practice up and search up on. Im sure i can say with little help you can install the motor, if anything removing the older motor is the issue as its awkward. I promote using your local merchants, i did many years. i also enjoy this site and doing some research. ( only one way to know, ask )

I see what your saying now Paul , i looked on ebay for 1245s. I didnt realize there was a so many different darn feet, Ya couldnt throw a bit of info on the zippers can you. Looking at them is uh well,  just curious whats good for a ground blind replacment or tent and any basic practice stock while your on the subject, appreciate it.

As a newby in this i see a lot on different forums and such of where can i get the books and # material, with very very few book selling options. Now i will pay much more attention. Its Possible the companies making after market items like the old 60s auto pieces.

Ive seen and been hearing "oh so great "stuff about birch plywood as the top line.
Well it is use to be a cabinet only grade available as i remember " old school " still is. Just marketing uses its cabinet quality reputation and has abused it as far as im concerend, bummer.
but nowadays it seems i see much better c/d roofing plywood and i can trust it to have some type of glue maybe not elmer himself but relatively close.

Man thats a good find, way to go. Id have to keep my buddies from wanting them, i bet that its nylon, but not sure. i just dont think the yellow pull or tow straps are using ptfe yet either.

Congratulations on the machine purchase, and Welcome to the site.
I am looking also at different new issues with machines and fabricating stuff, i wonder if the rear foot is turned slightly from parallel or if the feed dog has more / burr on top of a side making more pull on a side.  Just throwing this out someone can surley hit it shortly

I might need to re adjust, at this time after looking again the check spring has thread tension to bottom or say bdc then release's and not untill 1/4" form tdc or top starts to tension again. 

Thanks, i set it around the 9:00 as a manual pic shows. it looks loose on a down position some but i realy dont know what it would produce.

Yes on the lift, i repinned and installed it so thanks i will try that.
I re adjusted the new bobbin winder for a full amount of 92 ultra i first purchased it was not quite full, with this i am seeing a change down thru a small marine cover. the test pieces looked to be 12' i sewed at refill. wow a larger one could be handy versus i think the g on the 212 i have.

Quick question Please, I need to loc the start and finish of a seam with this machine i have at present, it has no reverse. Do i sew 1/2 inch and cut n trim and return to start ? whats best

Another question on the check spring, is it suppose to constantly have a tension on thread.

I have sewed the first 12' of my life on a machine, i dont think anyone needs to worry.

bobbin sorry didnt mean to hijack the post, just wanted to give the company a thumbs up. I had talked to Bob Kovar on other things about materials and the top gun and odyssey was brought up so i gave them a call and was sent some product pages, and they mentioned some vendors. good luck with whatever you choose, im sure it will be good for the customer.
