Recently I recall a post inquiring about use of sewing guides and today I received information about a magnetic version, just thought I'd pass it along for whatever it's worth.

I just bought this model the other day and got to use it for the first time. It works OK but I prefer my guide which is mounted on the swing away binder arm. It is fully adjustable and stable. The magnetic one tends to get bumped around and can move.

Here is the magnetic one I bought and the e-bay seller is the guy I bought it from.

If it works, it works.  The magnetic guides are usally best suited for cloth.  Canvas tends to be heavy enough to slide the magnet with heavy work.  Again, if it works, the pirce right, and your not risking a lot on this item.

Greg is right. If the material is heavy it WILL move the guide. My wife uses a magnetic seam guide on her machine and it works great foir her but she is only sewing cloth. I prefer using the stationary guide that I have with heavy material.

This is the stationary seam guide that I use and it works great. I swap out my binder and the guide on the fold away arm bracket. One thumb screw and it is off or back on.
